Vocal For Local: A Global Initiative for Environmental Sustainability

How Bikrri SBM is transforming India’s construction industry while supporting global environmental causes.

Why Sustainability Matters in Construction

The Environmental Challenge in Construction

The construction sector is among the largest consumers of natural resources and one of the biggest producers of waste. Globally, almost 30% of construction materials end up as waste—affecting landfills, carbon levels, and ecological health.

Bikrri SBM is solving a capital-efficiency problem in Indian construction by turning dead inventory into a liquid, discoverable asset.
We are building an asset-light exchange layer for surplus building materials.

The Solution — Bikrri SBM
Bikrri SBM is an asset-light digital exchange for surplus building materials.

Unlocks trapped working capital by turning surplus inventory into a liquid

Diverting unused materials from warehouses

Extending material life cycle

Reducing municipal waste burden

Promoting circular use of resources

Every reused material is one less item reaching the landfill.

Sustainable Construction

Driving responsible growth through circular construction practices

What is Sustainable Development?

Sustainable development in construction means building growth by reducing waste, reusing resources, and making infrastructure affordable without harming future generations.

How Bikrri SBM Contributes

Bikrri SBM promotes sustainable construction by reducing waste and enabling reuse of surplus building materials through a transparent digital marketplace.

Founder’s Message

Ar. Shweta Relekar

When I started Bikrri, it wasn’t because the construction or interiors industry needed another platform. It was because the industry needed clarity, fairness, and trust and a systematic way to manage construction materials that are often mismanaged and eventually converted into waste.

Over the years, I’ve seen the same simple problem repeat itself across cities and projects. Good materials go unused after site completion, while slow-moving stock remains stored in warehouses.

Bikrri is created to solve this gap not by adding complexity, but by solving it in a systematic and structured way. Bikrri acts as a liquidation platform for sellers with leftover materials, dead stock, and slow-moving inventory, helping them recover value and generate profits. At the same time, for buyers, Bikrri reduces raw material purchase costs and provides quality materials at affordable prices.

At its core, Bikrri is built on a simple belief: No one should be forced to buy blind, overpay, or feel unsafe while building or renovating a home. That belief shapes every decision we make. We empower sellers builders, manufacturers, and traders to list their surplus responsibly, without pressure or exploitation. We give buyers the right to inspect, verify, and approve before committing. We design our operations to stay lean, transparent, and scalable, so affordability is not a promise it’s a system. We do not believe in showrooms that inflate costs. We do not believe in hidden margins or forced packages. We do not believe that trust can be outsourced to technology alone. Technology at Bikrri exists to enable trust, not replace it. Our role is not just to be a marketplace. Our role is to build an ecosystem one that educates first-time homeowners, supports small sellers, reduces waste, and encourages responsible reuse of materials. As we grow across cities and regions, our commitment remains unchanged

  • Bikrri is building an ecosystem, not just a buying platform.
  • Waste reduction & responsible reuse: By unlocking surplus materials, we reduce construction waste and encourage responsible reuse.
  • We help buyers to make informed decisions, not rushed purchases.

Bikrri is being built patiently, with discipline and purpose. We are here to build something that lasts. If you are a buyer, a seller, a partner, or a team member reading this know that Bikrri exists to protect your interest, respect your effort, and earn your trust every single day.

Supporting IGBC, GRIHA & LEED Certifications

IGBC Green Building criteria

To meet IGBC criteria, projects must implement a construction waste management plan that diverts a significant percentage (e.g., 70-95%) of generated waste from landfills through recycling and reuse.

GRIHA waste management points

GRIHA awards points for proper segregation of construction and demolition waste at source, and for tracking the quantity of waste that is recycled or reused, promoting on-site waste handling.

LEED material reuse & waste credits

LEED offers credits for both reusing materials (like structural elements and furnishings) and for recycling or salvaging non-hazardous construction and demolition debris, aiming to reduce landfill disposal.

Why Bikrri SBM is Both Local and Global

The platform empowers India’s local ecosystem (Vocal for Local) while contributing to global environmental goals like CO₂ reduction, waste prevention, and sustainable development.

Local empowerment → Small sellers & contractors benefit

National sustainability → Better waste management

Global contribution → Compliance with world environmental standards
